I’m a math teacher, and I built Number Hive because I wanted students to use numbers – not just answer questions.
To kick off 2026 we’re giving teachers free access to 16 Number Hive printable games – an easy way to experience the structure, observe student thinking, and see if it’s the right fit for your class.
These are the same games used inside the Number Hive platform, adapted for simple, paper-based classroom play.
In Number Hive, students don’t get given questions to solve. They use the numbers available to them, make decisions, and learn through play.
Strategic number use, not rote answering
Games that naturally differentiate without extra planning
Repetition that builds confidence and fluency
Engagement that feels purposeful, not noisy
Most teachers know within one or two sessions whether it’s right for their class.
These are the same games used inside the Number Hive digital platform, adapted for paper-based classroom play.
How to play: Simply download your Number Hive game boards then print them out. You can use transparent counters to play. Many teachers prefer laminate the boards, or slip them into transparent sleeves, and use white board markers. Download and have the PDF forever!
There’s a short video below showing how to play. Or if you’d prefer an A4 PDF, you can find it here.
